Fifteen years ago, a little known company called Computer Software Group, began developing a quoting system for insurance brokers. The industry called for a fast, easy to use, accurate system and a solution was built called GroupQuote. The application was used by 1000s of brokers and continued over the years to improve based on brokers suggestions and feedback. One common request was to provide a commission management system. So we developed software allowing brokers to maintain their policies and enter commissions every month. Brokers raved about the features, functionality and ability to find missing money. But, it wasn't for the broker that didn't have the time, desire or resources to enter their commission statements every month and then constantly follow up with the carriers.
At that time, we were approached by general agents to enhance the system to manage their business. Since 1995 and still running today, we service and maintain hundreds of carriers, $4 billion in premium a year, $120 million in annual commissions, 5000 brokers and process millions of commission entries.
After 15 years in the industry and listening to brokers needs, we have finally come up with a solution called CommissionsDept. We have created a state-of-the-art application for the brokerage community but now incorporate 2 important services into the product.
